Does anybody know what program I can use to copy the words on the image document?

October 14, 2009 - 5:41 pm 3 Comments

I have an image document thats very important. And it contains important numbers and words that I need to re-type in the same print of the letters and numbers but type something differnent. Its sorta hard to explain. But I need some type of program in my computer that can do that because I dont have any programs that can.So does anyone know a program I can download that can?I need that help immediately!!!!!SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!

Since I’ve had scanners for a very long, I already have OCR (optical character recognition) software installed. Thus, I’ve never bothered to look around for additional software. That said, there is an Open Source (free) project called GOCR ("G" for "Gnu" I suppose) which provides OCR capability. The download for the software with a Windows interface is at:

Microsoft Document Imaging ActiveX?

October 12, 2009 - 2:43 pm 1 Comment

I use the Active X control within MS Access to display TIF’s by setting the Filename property. It works fine first but if I close the form with it in and then try and open the same file again it may or may not display. When this problem arises, Windows tells me the file is open in another application (ie Access) if I try and open it in a seperate application.

It seems Access still has it in memory but the Filename property is only for saved files.

The Document property sounds like it could be the answer but I can’t fathom how to make that to work?

Anyone can help?

Dont know if it will work.

When you have finished viewing the image (i.e. change record)
try setting the filename of the activex control to null

Also try refreshing the picture in the activex when the record changes

How do I get rid of Microsoft Document Image Writer?

October 10, 2009 - 3:33 pm 2 Comments

I use MS Office 2003 (My PC runs on Windows XP Pro), and when I go to print it defaults to Image Writer. On some things that I want to print (like off the web or some programs), it doesn’t ask me what I want to use, the Image Writer or my printer–it just automatically uses the Image Writer. I want to change this. It’s aggravating to have the Image Writer on there, but I don’t even know where it came from. How do I get rid of it, or at least change my default settings to my printer so that Image Writer doesn’t pop up automatically?

Control Panel, then Printers, then you can set the default printer to any other printer that’s present. I suspect your default printer is currently the Image Writer.

You could even delete the Image Writer from the printer list if you want.

How do I reduce the size of jpeg image on windows xp home. The document is too large to email.?

The company that I am sending to refuses to accept because the jpeg image/document is too large. One is a business card, one is a normal 8 1/2 x 11 document. I scanned both and tried to send.

use the following tools provided by Microsoft… it is a must have… just visit the site and download the image resizer powertoy and enjoy…it can be downloaded for free and you can just right click on an image and resize it.. just walk in a park…

If you need to optical character recognition (i.e. make it so that the text in the files can be searched/cut & paste) you may wish to try a free trial at Pixily.com. Pixily can convert scanned documents into text-searchable pdfs.

How to chang the color of black and white image document?

September 30, 2009 - 11:01 pm 1 Comment

I got a BMP black and white image document and I want to print it in blue and white , can you help with this problem

There are some variables in this –
what applications do you have that you use to view and print the document? many applications especially graphic applications can change a color in a key stroke – check the help menu on the application.
what printer are you using? in the print menu you can also manipulate the color output.

Does anyone know an easy way to convert a PDF to word document without scewing the image at all?

September 28, 2009 - 7:30 pm 2 Comments

We transferred the pdf to a word document but the tables are all out of whack. I just want to know if there is a simple way to do it, without having to download any software or anything, that will not scew the image/document

thanks

Yes. open the file with a good PDF file reader such as Adobe, or Power Desk, etc. save the file as a "rich textured format" under a different name. Word can read that too.

Microsoft Office 2003 Document Imaging Feature?

September 26, 2009 - 7:33 pm 2 Comments

Microsoft Office 2003 provided an imaging feature that could be selected from the Printer menu. (Similat to Adobe PDF) . I recently downloaded and installed Microsoft Office Security updates and as a result this imaging feature has disappeared. How can I get it back?

I use this software frequently and have also installed office updates but have not lost the feature. Try looking under start/programs/Microsoft office/Microsoft office tools and seeing if the document imaging software is there and if it works. If not, I suggest you repair your office installation by selecting change in add/remove programs for Microsoft Office.

you have to have a PDF file converter such as Adobe Acrobat. It costs money.
