The Need to Be Accepted
April 12, 2010 - 4:12 pm
In an effort to feel accepted and to fit in with the crowd, adolescents find themselves thrust into relationships that have no origin in anything other than proximity and mutual acquaintances. (which author stated this?) The scene plays itself out across schools from coast to coast. If one person in a peer group develops a romantic relationship, the group as a whole will soon find themselves romantically involved. (identify what level of adolescence this applies to) The pressure that is exerted by romantically involved peers over their single and unattached friends is neither threatening nor intimidating however it is effective.
