Torch Down Roofing Method

In a torch down roofing method, a modified bitumen roofing material and a roofing torch will be required.
Modified bitumen reacts to hot and cold temperatures. In countries with cold climates, modified bitumen is a great roofing material as it reacts better in chilling temperatures during the winter than the other types of roofing materials. When it comes to adapting to different weather temperatures, modified bitumen is the best way to go.
There are basically two types of modified bitumen roofs, the plastic based modified bitumen and the rubber based. The plastic based ones are the ones that typically require a roofing torch to be installed, since the rubber based modified bitumen uses cold adhesive or hot asphalt for it to be installed.
