In terms of a Web Applications Developer role, what does “bespoke web applications” mean?

The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the design, development and maintenance of websites, content management systems, e-commerce and other bespoke web applications.

Bespoke derives from the word "bespeak", meaning "to ask for". Bespoke web applications would refer to web applications designed to the customer’s specifications.

Tailor fit would also be a welcome analogy.

Web applications that are "tailor fitted" to meet the customers needs.

I hope that helps.

‘Bespoke’ means their own in-house designed and coded apps as opposed to stuff bought in from and maintained by external sources/third parties
